It gives a useful range, not a number. Growth curves are averages, and an individual doodle can finish above or below the projection depending on which parent they take after. Accuracy improves a lot after about 16 weeks, because by then a puppy has shown enough of their own growth pattern to project from. Treat the range as the answer and re-check at six months.
Around 16 weeks is the first point where a weight-based projection becomes reasonably reliable. Before that, litters vary too much for a growth curve to say much. Height finishes before weight: a Mini is close to full height by 10 to 12 months, a Medium by 12 to 14, and a Standard between 15 and 18 months, though Standards keep filling out in the chest and shoulders after that.
The puppy's own weight, once they are past about 16 weeks, because it reflects the genes that particular puppy actually inherited. The parents' weights are the better guide before you bring a puppy home, adjusted down slightly for an F1b, since a backcross to a Poodle often lands smaller than the average of the pair. Both are beaten by a breeder who can tell you the adult weights of previous litters from that exact pairing.
Doodles expected to finish over about 50 pounds should be on a large-breed puppy formula with controlled calcium, because excess calcium during rapid growth can stress developing joints. Larger doodles also stay on puppy food longer and, being deep-chested, carry a real bloat risk that makes meal pace worth managing. A 12-pound puppy heading for 65 pounds needs large-breed growth nutrition now, not later.
